This breakfast briefing will address the most current employment laws recently passed and under consideration, including the
- The much talked about Employee Free Choice Act
- The amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- The new Fair Pay Act
- The very recent changes to the COBRA law
- The much debated proposal entitled the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which will cover homosexuals, transgenders, etc.
- The new Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act
- The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Crawford v. Metro Government of Nashville, which held that Title VII’s anti-retaliation provision protects employees from being fired for cooperating with an employer’s internal sexual harassment investigation.
We will also provide an update on Ohio Workers’ Compensation laws and programs and what the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has in store for employers in the coming months.
